van gogh, chihuly, and the dallas arboretum.

Recently, while Dru's parents were visiting, we took a trip to the Dallas Arboretum. We love going in the fall because of the whole pumpkin festival thing they have going on.

And, this year was even more spectacular because of the Chihuly show. WOW. I've seen a couple of his shows, but still, I was totally in awe. Definitely go check it out.





























But we were in for a treat we didn't expect when we came upon a little children's play house that had been transformed into the cottage of Vincent Van Gogh. Violet and I had only just been studying him and she knew about his home because the painting he did of his room. They made the inside of the play house to look just like his room in the painting. Oh my goodness, Violet couldn't get over it. Too much fun. On her way in, Dru told her, "Now this isn't really the room Van Gogh lived in. It's just decorated to look like it".

But, when V came out she declared, "Daddy, I think that really IS the home of Vincent Van Gogh!"
