eleven months.
At eleven months, Violet, you are seeming so big. You've begun to walk, you are speaking your own kind of words in your own way. Like "Haa!" or a high pitched "eye!" when you wave "hi", a very soft"Pa-pa" for your Papa Shaw, "Mama" for me, and "Meh!" for that "mwah" sound we make when we kiss. You love to kiss your baby doll, and your rubber ducks and any kind of creature. Whenever one of them is in your arms you put our face up to it and say "Meh! Meh! Meh!" over and over. The sweetest thing!! Also, you love to give high fives and you giggle and giggle every time. You've always got to be moving. Usually you will push your baby walker for balance, but if that's not readily available you're happy to take a chair or bar stool from the kitchen and push that all over the hard floors to get around.
You're getting longer and thinner. It's funny because pants that were too tight on you a couple months ago fit great now as you've lost some of that chunka-chunck!
One day you saw Elmo on TV. You were GLUED TO THE TUBE! Why is it that kids love Elmo so much? Scary. Now everyday you watch Elmo's World...it's your fav. I find it so funny how you just sit in the middle of the room staring at the tv.
Everyday when your daddy gets home from work he reads to you. You love books! It's crazy to me how young you can be to prefer one book over the other. Basically if the books don't have a rhythm or rhyme, or if you can't easily identify the faces, you're not interested. You love all Maisy books right now, David Shannon books (although we're scaling back on David books since when we tell you "No" you think it's all a big funny joke since we laugh and laugh at the David books), and you love Dr. Seuss for the rhymes, but right now your favorite is Skippy Jon Jones...and mom and dad think they're a super fun read too. If we read you a book you like you will sit very still, studying the pictures. You always want to help turn the pages too.
You started taking baths this week in the "big" bathtub rather than your baby tub over the kitchen sink. You're still a bit apprehensive...that faucet is big and loud!
